The latest installment of the Strand Theatre’s original radio variety show series can be heard by tuning in to WRFR at 93.3 in Rockland, 99.3 in Camden, or by streaming at WRFR.org. Let’s Talk About Energy, Part 1: Energy in Your Mid-Coast Home

The Camden Public Library and Camden Energy Committee announce a new online series aimed at helping fuel-dependent Mainers explore their energy options, lower their energy costs, and find out what they can do to help combat climate change. The monthly series kicks off on Thursday, March 4, at 6:00 pm with a panel presentation featuring local energy experts who will discuss what can be done within homes. The audience will hear from Brian Robinson, Vice President of Evergreen Home Performance; Dana Fischer, Area Manager for Mitsubishi heat pumps; Brandon Mazur, solar design expert at ReVison Energy; and Sarah Holland, architect (Holland and Foley) focusing on sustainable housing. Camden Library Hosts “Book Birthday Event”

Weskeag waterfront conserved

Standing on the shoreline of the Weskeag Headland Preserve, you see extensive salt grass flats, quiet coves, and acres of open fields and woodland protected along the opposite shore. The acquisition of the Weskeag Headlands Preserve by the Georges River Land Trust occurred at the end of 2020 and marks the success of many community members and the vision of David and Lorri Cousens to conserve this 37-acre forested property along the Weskeag. David, who grew up in the area, spoke enthusiastically about the opportunities the property offers to educate area youth about the natural environment and give residents the chance to experience the marsh up close.
