Working with local schools and through social media outlets, the Page Gallery gave away over 250 panels to kids throughout the community, with a subject prompt to make a piece of art depicting their favorite place, real or imagined. The show celebrates a child's uninhibited ability to create and promises to inspire artists of all ages. The exhibition opened January 15th and will be on display through February 19th. This March, Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) invites youth ages 10 to 18 to work hands-on with Belted Galloway calves at Aldermere Farm, a historic saltwater farm preserve located at 20 Russell Avenue in Rockport. Starting March 1st, Aldermere Farm will host a three-week long session of Farm Hands (3:30-5:00 PM every Monday and Wednesday), a free program for youth to practice haltering, grooming, and leading young calves. Auction items continue to stream in for the upcoming virtual auction to benefit Allen & Cathy Jackson of Washington. This event, sponsored by Aflac-Sheila Lowe, will happen on Facebook Live next Friday, February 5 starting at 6PM. The Jacksons are both battling life-threatening medical conditions. Dozens of auction items have already been contributed, including jewelry, lobsters, artwork, tools, and a wide variety of gift certificates.
