5-Day Photo Workshop: Explore Vinalhaven Island

Come along on this journey, slow down to `island time’, and discover the gems of this community that is 12 miles from the mainland while you build your photography skills. You will be met at your skill level with guidance to build on your camera-handling techniques and to expand your personal vision with tips on seeing and composition. Your destination is a small, self-sustaining island with a year-round, diverse population of 1200 – from a thriving lobster fishing industry to artist studios and galleries. Be swept away by the culture, the pace, the quaintness, the people, the landscape, and the ocean views. Activities include hiking trails, artist’s studios, the historical museum, a boat ride to a uninhabited island for a picnic lunch, a skiff ride to North Haven, exploring a working harbor with one of the largest lobstering fleets on the Maine coast, or swim in crystal clear quarry water.
