This highly lauded duo are regular guest artists at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China as well as enjoying U.S. performing and teaching careers. Matthew is a member of Palaver Strings, the much-loved Maine-based chamber orchestra committed to enriching lives by sharing music with diverse audiences. This program is anchored by Rachmaninov’s Cello Sonata in G Minor, a work that explores the two instruments’ capacity for expressive tenderness and is filled with the character typical of Russia’s Romantic era.

Founded in 1961 by brothers Andrew and Thomas Wolf, Bay Chamber Concerts features world-renowned artists year-round. Our Summer Concert Series and Music Festival in July and August feature over 30 events that redefine the standards for chamber music. From September to June the Performing Arts Series features classical, jazz, world music and dance events in a variety of venues throughout the region.

Celebrating Maine's role in American art, the Farnsworth offers a nationally recognized collection from many of America's greatest artists. The museum houses the nation's second-largest collection of works by 20th-century sculptor Louise Nevelson. Its Wyeth Center features works of Andrew, N.C., and Jamie Wyeth. Open all year, daily 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; closed winter Mondays and Tuesdays. Available for special events.
