Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 21 Winter Street, Rockland. ART LAB. Monday–Thursday, Feb 19-22, 2-4pm. Drop-in, free and open to all ages. 207-701-5005.

Farnsworth Art Museum, 16 Museum Street, Rockland. 207-596-6457. Closed Mondays in winter. Children’s Art Camp. Tuesday-Thursday. 9 am-12 noon. In this 3-day art camp for children ages 5 to 7 years old, we will be inspired by the Chinese New Year. Puppets are a wonderful way to construct imaginary friends with playful personalities.

  • Monday, February 19: Paper Airplane Workshop. Recommended Ages:6-14 years old. Open to all skill levels with paper airplanes tutorials that range from the usual to exotic gliders that fly on a wave of air! Available Sessions: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
  • Tuesday, February 20: Mousetrap Cars.Recommended Ages:8-14 years old. Build your own mousetrap-powered car and finally figure out who can build the better mousetrap. Available Sessions: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
  • Wednesday, February 21: Stick & Tissue Airplanes. Recommended Ages:8-14 years old. What can you create with balsa sticks, tissue paper, glue and a rubber band? Come find out! Available Sessions: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
  • Thursday, February 22: Electric Cars. Recommended Ages:8-14 years old. Build your own small electric car then enjoy the thrill of a test drive! Available Sessions: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
  • Friday, February 23: Hot Air Balloons. Recommended Ages: 8-14 years old. Turn your imagination loose by building a colorful, fully-functioning hot air balloon! Available Session: 10:30 AM-1:30 PM
