The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce a new informational series for 2017: The Legal Series. This quarterly series, led by Eaton Peabody attorneys, will tackle timely legal topics that are relevant to the business community.
To learn what topics are most important to our members, the Chamber and Eaton Peabody will be distributing an email survey later in February; we look forward to receiving your input.

8:00 am - Registration, Coffee & Continental Breakfast
8:30 am to 10:00 am - Presentation
Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce - Rockland Office
1 Park Drive, Rockland
With music, images, text and video easily available on numerous electronic devices such as computers, mobile phones and tablets, the questions of who has rights to what and how it can be used legally have become muddied. The use and misuse of copyrighted materials and how business owners can enhance their product and business while protecting themselves and their materials are the focus of the presentation. Eaton Peabody Attorney Adria LaRose will explore the legal risks associated with business websites, social media, blogs, and other online marketing and public relations tools. She will help attendees understand what a business owner can do or should not do in order to avoid legal liability in the fast moving digital world.
We’ll address the following issues and answer your questions:
Adria’s diverse business litigation experience includes intellectual property litigation (including trademark and anti-counterfeiting), legal malpractice, First Amendment, telecommunications and environmental matters. She has handled anti-counterfeiting suits for a major software developer and a large computer chip maker, coordinated execution of search and seizure orders for a video game manufacturer, and has appeared before the California Public Utilities Commission on behalf of an international telecommunications company and a local municipality.
Pre-registration and pre-payment is required for this event. Admission, which includes continental breakfast, is $10 for Chamber members, and $20 for non-members. Registration deadline is Friday, February 24th at 3 pm.
