Archipelago hosts grand re-opening celebration during First Friday Art Walk - June 2

After a month of renovations, Archipelago, the Island Institute store, will officially unveil a newly redesigned space that features a modern, open concept, new artists, and new products. The store, located at 386 Main Street in Rockland, will host a grand re-opening celebration during Rockland's First Friday Art Walk on Friday, June 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The public is invited to stop in to enjoy some light refreshments and see the new look. "Alone" Winner Zachary Fowler, Camden Public Library, June 8

The Camden Public Library is very pleased to welcome our very own local celebrity and winner of the History Channel show, “Alone”, Zachary Fowler. On June 8, at 7:00 pm, Fowler will bring items that helped him survive Alone in Patagonia, along with items he made himself. Fowler survived 89 days alone, which is a record for the show. He will tell stories about his adventure and survival, answer questions, and sign autographs. More...

Key Bank employees volunteer at Camden Public Library

Employees from the Camden branch of Key Bank worked in the Library Amphitheatre and Harbor Park yesterday for four hours pruning, weeding and raking leaves. It was their annual outreach to the community known as Neighbors Day. Summer Solstice Celebration in Rockland - June 17

Rockland Main Street will once again host a Summer Solstice Celebration on Saturday, June 17th. Festivities will include a Street Party from 4 to 7 pm, featuring food, music and fun, that is free and open to the public. The Summer Solstice Dock Party will take place from 6 to 10:30 pm that evening, at Journey's End Marina. Music and dancing to the sounds of local band, Just Teachers. The Dock Party is for adults only 21+ with ID. No cover charge; cash bar.

Late Spring Wildflowers and Bird Songs of the Ragged Mountain Preserve

As part of the Coastal Mountains Nature Program series, a late Spring nature walk will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 10:00am until noon. Led by Maine Master Naturalists Cloe Chunn and Roger Rittmaster, this will be a general natural history walk at the peak of spring wildflowers and songbird migration in Mid-Coast Maine. Meet at the Route 17 parking area for Georges Highland Path.
